Random Acts of Kindness in the Library

IMAG1162

Yes, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow. But we at the Library want to show some extra appreciation for our students, staff, and faculty for an entire week. Each day this week, the Library is doing a random act of kindness. If you stopped by the Library this week you may have seen the bowls of candy we had at the reference and circulation desks. Today, we are offering a free print card to patrons who come to the reference desk (while supplies last)!

Brown Bag Lecture: America in the British Imagination

bb

“America in the British Imagination,  examines the American influences on postwar Britain and how Britons imagined the United States. My talk examines famous Americans who have shaped the lives of Britons such as Henry Ford, Elvis Presley and Bill Clinton and those less famous ones who also played a part in bringing American influences to Britain. I will then discuss how Britons viewed the US in 1945 and how this has changed in the last 68 years.”  Dr. Lyons.

Join us for another Brown Bag lecture in the Library, hosted by Dr. John Lyons on Tuesday Jan. 29 at 12:30p. Brown Bag Seminars are open to the entire college campus community.  Faculty are encouraged to bring their classes or encourage students to attend for extra credit purposes.  If you intend to bring your class, please contact Catherine Suchy for reserved seating at csuchy [at] jjc.edu.

Eating is allowed in the Library Event Area for the Brown Bag Sessions and light refreshments will be served.
